Improvement

Industry: Aerospace

Scope of Work

A major Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) hired Global Partner Solutions to recruit a team of specialists in their respective fields who would be responsible for undertaking a big redesign and process improvement project.

Activities

Global Partner Solutions moved on to recruit and deploy top-quality personnel within the marketplace and its business network to ensure the project’s efficiency and results.

The list of resources provided included: line assembly expeditors, logistic agents, inventory management and supplier relationship specialists, and strategic and tactical buyers.

Under the sponsorship of our client’s management team, our group of professional hands-on experts quickly identified solutions which included streamlining the production flow and data cleansing activities. Furthermore, they designed and implemented a workable change request process.

Results

As a result, there was an improvement in the communication channels between key vendors and their clients. The welcomed results enhanced vendor-customer relationships.

Here are some key improvements arising from our work on this project:

  • New bills of material are now reviewed and distributed along the supply chain which gave way to a smooth and controlled transition towards a new configuration
  • The production team communicate change requests to the supply chain in a timely and structured fashion
  • Analysis and consolidation of inventory led to significant cost savings
  • The close monitoring of vendor management and improved reporting tools resulted in increased visibility and predictability and reduced supply chain risks
