Summary and objective of the position

You will work closely with the responsible program manager of a range of products to identify the risks associated with supplier deliveries that can be used in production. You will ensure that the parts needed for the products to be manufactured will always be in sufficient quantities to eliminate any negative impact on production and assembly. You will also be responsible for negotiating contracts with current and prospective suppliers. Finally, you will participate in cost-cutting and process improvement initiatives to help the company meet its standard cost targets.

Main responsibilities and expected results

  • Place vouchers as required by the ERP system
  • Regularly track suppliers who are considered key.
  • Develop specific deadlines for critical parts with suppliers and proactively identify potential shortages or find alternative solutions when shortages are unavoidable.
  • Set up a schedule for conference meetings or calls with suppliers.
  • Question and work with suppliers to prepare alternative plans when parts delivery dates do not meet the needs of the organization.
  • Participate in the negotiation of long-term agreements with current and prospective suppliers in 
  • Complete all tasks associated with the role of buyer such as creating vouchers, tracking shipments etc.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in one of the following disciplines: Business Administration, Law, Supply Chain Management or equivalent.
  • 5-7 years of experience in the Manufacturing industry
  • Bachelor’s degree in one of the following disciplines: Business Administration, Law, Supply Chain Management or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years of experience in Procurement. 
  • Proven skills in the use of MRP systems
  • Effective management of customer expectations and stakeholders.
  • Efficient project management and actions monitoring.
  • Proven in communication, especially with suppliers’ representatives and internal stakeholders.
  • Negotiation skills
  • Familiar with lean manufacturing procedures and methods
  • Skilled with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Access.
  • High level of autonomy and solution driven.
  • Versatile, capable to manage very different tasks.
